Cake: Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack

For my daughters birthday she requested that I made her a cake based off the Cartoon network series, The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack. Below are the pictures of the final product, along with the drawing that inspired the final cake.

The characters are all edible, and they are all made out of fondant and crispies. It took a day to assemble the whole cake, and the crispies were made a day prior to decorating.

Chocolate Cakes

These are a few yummy chocolate cakes I made. Some were made for customers, some for myself.

Present Cake

This is a cake, that's made to look like a present!

I made the circle present cake for my daughters birthday party at a local theme park.

The funny part was we didn't dent up the cake - the party hostess dented it! We safely delivered the cake, only to have the hostess bring it out of the freezer with a huge gash in the side. You can imagine the looks on everyones faces when they saw the dent, followed by the-"That wasn't there at first!?!"

And to top that, the dent was in the front of the cake....I was furious!!!

Cake: Chowder

This here is a picture of my daughters cake I made for her last year, October 2009, its based off the Cartoon Network series "Chowder".

It was during the making of this cake I learned that having Rice Crispies on hand is a must. There was a little struggle to get Chowders head on without toppling over, but in the end we did it!

Fondant Flowers: Fantasy Flower

This is a fantasy flower made out of fondant and gumpaste.

Wedding Cake: Red & Yellow Roses

These are a few pictures of a wedding cake I had done. The cake was two tiered and covered in white fondant. Using minimum decoration, the cake was accented with red and yellow roses and a light buttercream border.

The roses were made about 1-2 days prior to putting them on the cake to make sure they were dry and fully harden. The red roses were really messy to color and the fondant became a little soft when this color was used, but in the end it all came together.

Basketcake 2

This is a cake I did for a family members baby shower. I also included pictures for "baby booties" cupcakes I made as well.

a "carriage" cupcake- see the little baby peeping his head out?!
The color is a little off, we forgot to put on the flash, but the cake and cupcakes really did turn out alright!

Basketweave Cake

This beautiful spring time cake has color flow birds w/ pansy's, apple blossoms, and violets-

Greetings Cake Eaters,
I have been in the cake business since 1992. I love just about all cakes and cookies. And believe it or not, I even dream of cakes. You can say my whole life revolves around cakes!

This is my official blog and it will feature pictures of the cakes I've made. I am a Wilton Cake Decorating instructor and in my free time I make cakes for friends, family, and the many customers I have picked up along the way.

Carnival Craze Cake

With a carnival request in mind this is what I came up with spur of the moment. Not bad for a last minute request.
